•Different types of breathing.
•To make the most of their voice including projection, articulation, audibility and means of emphasis.
•To communicate with an audience and get their message across.
•The difference between hearing and listening.
•How to deal with distractions.
•How to use a microphone and cue cards.
•To be aware of body language.
•About making eye contact and using gestures.
•How to recognise and overcome mind-body tensions.
Participants learn:
•Their right to speak; finding their voice.
•Effective communication.
•Self-advocacy; how to speak up for themselves, and others.
•The difference between assertive and aggressive communication.
•Finding their own style.
•Dealing with questions and answering with confidence.
•The use of visual aids.
•Speaking ‘under pressure’.
Participants learn how to look after their own wellbeing in our tuning up sessions. These are included in every workshop and incorporate breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, yoga, mindfulness, and voice exercises.
