Our Events

Speakers House, house of commons event

At this event, 20 brave participants gave their speeches to an audience of 100, including the Minister for Disability. Each participant was dutifully supported by a Mentor, empowering them with confidence for such a large event. 


The Minister also delivered a speech outlining the vital work Speaking Out Forum are delivering and emphasising the alignment of our work with government policy. 

turning over a new leaf event

Hosted at the London home of Lord and Lady Fink, this event featured 12 speeches made by participants and the performance of Our Song played and sung by Toby Marlow. 

Harrow school theatre event

A reception/tea at the Harrow School Theatre where speeches were given by 20 participants and an inspirational talk given by Sir Anthony Seldon (Our honorary patron). This event was attended by the Mayor of Harrow and his consort. 


Manchester Library Event

This event invited a large number of participants to give speeches heard by the Lord Mayor of Manchester, who said a few words and presented participants with certificates and medals. 

Newfriars college/ shaw trust event

An event at their theatre where 12 participants gave incredible speeches after completing our training course. 

Upcoming Events in 2025

In 2025, Speaking Out Forum has excited plans for the following: 


  • Workshops as part of our training courses. 
  • Attendance at the International Deaf Conference in Rome.
